We'll admit.
We've been rather focused on our weather recently.
That's partly because we live
where we enjoy a wonderful climate
(in our humble opinion)
In the low foothills of the Rocky Mountains
We average more than 300 days of sunshine a year.
It's a mild climate. And very dry.
We do get snow.
But it rarely lasts.
But drive 45 minutes to the west of us?
You'll find snow.
Some that lasts year round!
(Some of our friends have already been skiing!)
Anyhow.
We love our climate.
We love our weather.
Mostly because we love to be outside.
Remember the snow from a few days ago?
It's been long gone.
But we woke up to a foggy morning yesterday.
We could see it rolling in from the east
over the hogback.
(This is the same view we always take from our deck.)
The geese flocked and flew from near the pond
over our house, to escape it.
(If you biggify the picture up above
you can see the flock flying in from the east.)
(If you biggify the picture up above
you can see the flock flying in from the east.)
And it kept rolling in.
Pretty soon we were socked in.
So we decided to go for a walk.
Things sound so different in the fog.
Everything is hushed.
And beautiful.
In nature's monochrome colors.
But, like most of our weather
It didn't last.
By the time we got home
the fog was lifting.
It turned out to be a perfect day
(but really, aren't all days perfect?)
And it became the day we'd been talking about.
And waiting for.
The day to make Bouillabaisse.
That's one thing we really miss here.
Fresh off-of-the-docks seafood.
But we don't let the lack of ocean stop us from enjoying its tastes.
So.
That evening we went about making up a big batch
of the wonderful French soup
to enjoy.
Both the preparing
and the eating.
On the deck.
Enjoying the beautiful autumn evening.
In case you'd like to catch a glimpse of our evening
we created a Smilebox for you.
(It may take a while to load.)
(It may take a while to load.)
NinaGirl did most of the preparing.
We supervised.
Moma took pictures.
And we ALL enjoyed the end result!

We love the photos and our motto is "take time to smell the roses" and it looks like you do.
Due to our stoopid satellite uplink we can't always look at a Smilebox, but when we can, we'll be back for that.

We are heading toward soup weather here, and she is so excited we can hardly stand it.
Good thing we had lots of people the other night, cause we reduced the amount of psghetti sauce in the freezer and made room for the next creations!
