Windy Weather

What's with this wind?

Our ears are flappin'
Turnin' wrong-side-out!

For some SillyReason
Moma put ribbons on us to blow in the Breeze
(Some Breeze ... it was more like a Gale!)

And
Leave it to Jake
He took advantage of an opportunity to dance

Neither of us much like it
(Neither does Moma)

But the temperatures are really mild
(Tomorrow's gonna be in the 70sF; Saturday's gonna be in the low 80sF)
So we try to still spend time Outside
(Watering and watering the Garden ... in more ways than one)

We keep watching for Snow coming over the Mountain

This month we only got 2.5 inches of the WhiteStuff
Instead of the average 11.7 inches.

Here a reminder of what it has been like during previous Marches
(That's Miss Molly ... Moma was collapsed at the end of the ShoveledPath)

We miss it!
It's GOBS of fun and it usually melts in a Day or Two

We're way behind on Snow for the Season, too.
So far we've only gotten 20 inches of the average 61.7 inches.
(We're SnowDeprived!)

March is usually our snowiest Month.
November comes in second.
April comes in third
(Remember ... we hardly EVER get rain.  Anytime.  Any month.  Any year.)

Maybe we'll get Lucky in April.

We hope so.

Forever Hopeful

Guess What?

We woke up to a dusting of snow this morning!
I could hardly believe my eyes!

The ground was white
While the sidewalks and streets were dry.

Now it's all long melted
Leaving behind a bit of moisture for the Ground.

We'll take more of that whenever we can get it!

(It has been unusually dry and very windy.
We haven't gotten our March snows full of heavy wet moisture
and, instead,
We've already started getting our mid-summer BrushFires.

Just this past week
There was a big fire on the "eastern plains" of Colorado.
Our RescueAngel PJ lives less than two miles
From the border of an evacuation area where a fire burned.

It's out now
But only after 1600 acres burned and 6000 homes were temporarily evacuated.
It was scary stuff.
And consequently we really really want it to snow.  Lots.)

(We just don't get much rain where we live.)

In the meantime
We're waiting for Moma's foot to heal
(Some odd sort of pain makes her sort of hobble around some of the time)
and
We're waiting for the GoAhead from Fergi's Vet
(She's got luxating patellas that seem to be getting worse)
and
THEN
We're looking forward to a return of our long WALKS!

(Remember or Recognize This?)

We've all been missing them
Our LongWalks

And ... we've been missing YOU!

But we are all making a ComeBack
and
We remain

Forever Hopeful,
Jake and Fergi

Sooner or Later

Remember us?

TwoSpecialWires
Jake and Fergi
One-Time-Bloggers

Last we saw ya
(It seems like forever ago)
We were wondering when the inevitable March Snow was gonna arrive
Seein' as how Moma stripped us of all our Furs

Well

We're still Waiting
and
Wondering
and
Watching

All of Us

But it hasn't started falling yet
and
That's becoming a Problem

'Cause the Ground is so Dry
and
The Humidity is so Low
and
The Winds have been HurricaneForce
(Which scares Fergi)
and
The Conditions for Wildfires have been Extreme

and

It's

Only

March

(That's Scary)

So
We're hoping and hoping for Snow
(That's our form of SpringRain)
and
Once we get it
You'll know about it

That'll be BloggingMaterial
for SURE!

Furthermore

(As if that's not enough to worry ourselves about)
We are still banned from the "Downstairs"

All ThoseToys are still hanging out DownThere
Being sorted (and occasionally sniffed ... when YouKnowWho makes his way down there)
for the EVENTUAL Distribution

We figure if we (I) stare and whine long enough
Moma will finally get AllThoseThings to where we want them to be.

Outta here
and in the Paws of Doggies who deserve them.

(We've got Faith.  It'll happen.)

'Til Then
or
'Til Later

Don't Forget Us!

xx

Happy Green Leaf Day!

Old Irish Blessings
Sort of say it like it should be

Everyday
for Everyone

(Including all the Furries who are still waiting for their forever Homes)

May Love and Laughter light your Days
and warm your Heart and Home.
May good and faithful Friends be yours
wherever you may roam.
May Peace and Plenty bless your World
with Joy that long endures.
May all Life's passing Seasons
bring the Best to you and yours.

We hope today has been really good for you
and
We hope the changing of Seasons that we are noticing
Brings Promises of Rebirth and Rest
(Depending on your hemisphere)

Spring is definitely arriving Here

OurGirl has been home for Spring Break
(Yay!)
We saw tiny pokes of Green
Emerging through the rocks in the new Flowerbeds
and
Plans are developing for the distribution of all those Toys
That hide (as if!) on our DownstairsTables.

All is Well.
Busy, but Well.

We hope it is the same for you!

Much Love
Jake and Fergi
(Waiting for the BigSpringSnowstorm
That is already past-due for our Foothills.
Know why?
Notice anything different
Between this pic and the ones of us just a week or so ago?)

It's Time to Party!

Ho Hum
We're trying hard to get Colorful and Cheery 'round here

We've had a few Monochrome Shades of Gray Days
(Cloudy Weather, a LostDog and MinorBogs in the ToyDistributionEfforts)

But we can't let it get us down Too Long
Not Us
Nope

Seems MartyGrawDays are Here

So
Not to be Left on the Sidelines

We pulled out the Beads and Masks

(What do you think?
Are they becoming to Us?)

(In case that's not enough to judge by
Here are a few more Takes)

and
We're gearing up to head to a big Party

That sounds like Lots of Fun
(Read On)

But First
On a Side Note
We've a Good
GoodFriend who encourages celebrating that Big Day MartyGraw

(No Surprise ... now that we're learning more about it
She's got ties to new OreLeans)

and

She got OurGirl into one of the Parades a CouplaYearsAgo
in a little local Town called Manny Two Springs

That was before Us
But not before other Four-Leggeds joined in

We know we would've had a Great Time
and
We could've dressed for the Part
(Don't'cha think?)

This sign sorta says it All

So

We're wondering if the VerySpecialParty that we mentioned Up Above
Will be anything like this?

Be sure to drop by and see

Everybody's Welcome!

You can read more about it at our Sissie Asta's blog
and the party is

The Big Pile of Everything!

To say we are Overwhelmed
Might be a bit of an Understatement

But
Bottom Line
We are VeryVeryExcited

Remember those Boxes?

We're ready to continue our Story about Them.

The last time you might've seen me
I was waiting at the top of the Stairs
Barricaded
Kept away from what I really wanted
Downstairs

Because
You see

Since OurGirl came home from College
We took advantage of a GreatOpportunity
and
We opened the Big Pile of Boxes that held the Big Pile of Everything
Our Winnings from Kyjen's Blogger Contest

And
WOW!

What an Experience!
Watch and you'll see what we mean
(We really hope you can see the video ...
... it captures a lot of what we've been experiencing
including a lot of the Fun ...)

In case you've missed the Story Behind the Story
Here's the brief version:

(If you want, you can look back and read about it in some earlier blogposts
Starting with late December)

Anyhow

Over the Holidays
We entered a contest sponsored by Kyjen
(an AmazinglyCoolDogToy Company)
and
We WON!

We won BIG
We won ONE of EVERYTHING on their shelves
and
Given that we already consider Ourselves one of the Luckiest Families around
Already blessed with Love and Lots of Toys
We promised to share our Winnings
(if we won ... which we DID!)
With other doggies who haven't been as Lucky as We
and
Who are still waiting for their Forever Homes
in the care of Angels who have Rescued them

So
That's the Plan

We're excited

We're already making Plans and some Arrangements

Slowly
Carefully
Thoughtfully

And we are VeryVeryHappy to think of the Joy that we hope we can bring
to a Bunch of VeryDeservingDogs
and
TheirRescueAngels

We'll keep you posted

In the Meantime
Here are a few Pics
to give you a bit of a feel
for just how amazing this Opportunity has been

(This is the box we've just sorted out for The Big Dogs)

and

Here are some collages of some of the AmazingStuff

Pretty Cool!
Huh?!?

We really really want to thank Kyjen

There were no strings attached
No expectations
No requests for publicity
No nothing

Just a whole lot of Generosity
With a truly amazing collection of the highest quality
(in our opinion)
Toys for Dogs
Toys that Boycott Boredom
Toys that Encourage Stimulate and Entertain
Toys that are Durable Innovative and Unique
Truly Amazing Toys

Toys that we are excited to share
'Cause we truly do feel VeryVeryLucky

(Watch for updates through the coming months!)
