We Are Sleeping

After the excitement of the past few days, we may be sleeping for the next 48 hours.

It's been great, but we are dog-tired.

Jake's retired to the butterfly chair, and Fergi's curled up in a ball on the big bed.

We've both been like that for hours and hours.

We are the picture of comfort and contentment.

We wanted to wake up long enough, though, to say, "Thanks, everyone, for helping to make Fergi's birthday so special for all of us. It was so much fun and so nice to celebrate it with our family, and it was equally nice to get cards and comments and messages from our friends. We want to send a special thanks to Asta, for the Perfectly Pink Card that Fergi received via peemail, and BabyRocketDog and Hootie for the Princess Blingee Card, with the link on their blog that sent lots of new friends over to wish Fergi a special day." We are happy dogs, with happy people. Like we've said before, "We're the lucky ones."

We'll be back soon. As soon as we wake up. Who knows how long that will be. The snow is melting and the days are supposed to be in the 70s and even 80s now for the rest of the week. That means warm sun on the deck. That means prolonged dream-filled naps, belly-down, on the toasty warm wood. It's like a sauna. And we lapse into a state of Zen.
