On October Twelfth

We asked them to deliver a message to Angel Poppy
Over the Bridge.

You see
She just had a Barkday
and they've been thinking about her and sending special thoughts to her.

We asked them to ask her to find our Grampa
The grampa we never got to meet
(We think maybe he's hanging out with their daddy.)

He's our moma's daddy
(She's the little one ... in his arms ... a long long time ago.)

The daddy who was a great Father
Who provided so incredibly well for his Family
and filled them with Love
and Fun
and gobs and gobs of fond Memories

(She's the little one, again,
on vacation in Colorado a gazillion years ago.
He's the one on the left.)

He's the one who loved to have Fun
to enjoy the Simplest Things in Life
and the one who taught his Family to do the Same.
To Laugh
To Smile
To Love
and to Care Deeply for One Another.

We've heard lots of stories about him.
All about how he loved his little dogs

All of them.
Equally.

Joli

Molly ...  Moma's wirey one
and
Mitzi ... the family parti-colored poodle

and squirmy Chloe.

All those doggies are across the Bridge now.
With that man who was Moma's daddy and would've been our grampa.

He died on October 12
Nine years ago
Suddenly
Quickly
Right after telling our Auntie "I love you"
as they talked on the telephone.

Moma misses him terribly
and she sometimes still cries

But she knows
He's with all the doggies he knew during his Lifetime
plus a whole lot more
and they are All enjoying his Gentle Touch
and Kind Words
His Soft Smile and Tender Love.

And someday
We'll get to meet him
and it will be wonderful.

We know we'll know him right away
He'll be the one watching and waiting for us.

'Cause Love waits
and Love lasts Forever.

What a lovely tribute and we can see in the pics what a good man your Grandpa was.
Such a gentle face.
Our own Grandpa would have had his birthday on October 11th so our mum has been thinking about him too.
Sometimes life is sad - but you have so many wonderful memories.
Thanks for sharing them - just loved the pics of your mom has a littel girl too!
How cute.

Please tell Momma "thank you" for sharing such a beautiful story. Your grandpop IS waiting for you, and will open his loving arms to each of you when it is your time. Please hug mommy for us, and when she cries, lick away her tears and let her know she is loved....very loved.

This beautiful post touched mom's heart and made her cry ~ because her beloved father died in 2006 (of cancer) and she still misses him lots and cries. So she completely understands. ((((hugs))))
She loves the words: "Cause Love waits and Love lasts Forever" 'cos they give hope.

Hi Fergie and Jake! This is a wonderful tribute to your Grandpa - we are sorry you never got to meet him. Most of us didn't meet our grandpa either so we know it is hard. And our mom knows what it is like to suddenly loose her dad - this post is extra special to her because she knows how your mom feels missing her dad. We send you lots of comforting purrs, and our mom sends over lots and lots of hugs!

Momma is crying over here. It's so hard to miss people. Even when you KNOW that they are safe and happy, awaiting your reunion with them... it's just hard.

I hope that when your tears dry, all of your fond memories make them worth the pain. It takes a strong and wonderful man to leave the kind of legacy with his kids that your Grampa left with Moma. That's a life well-lived!

Joining you in missing him, and in celebrating him!

What a moving tribute to your Grandpa. Love the photo's of Moma with her family and of your Grandpa, he has such a twinkle in his eyes and an lovely infectious smile. I can tell he was very very special. Much like my Granny who left us October 10th, 3 years ago. I loved her and she me, I reminded her of all her past wirey ones and made her laugh. Mom sends big hugs and love to your Moma, she cries very often and understands how hard it is. But your words were lovely and give us all hope. We send love to Penny and Patches and their Mom too.

Wiry love Eric xxx
