We've been trying to catch up a little tonight.
We go through stages when we fall behind
Reading and Commenting on our friends' blogs.
That doesn't make us Happy.
But it happens
and
We try hard to make that feel All Right
Understandable
Acceptable
Tonight
As we read
We felt some Comfort.
Actually, a lot of Comfort.
Joy
and
Peace
We saw repeated examples of "Mom and Me" photos
Pictures that followed the suggestion of dear Max and his moma.
And we realized Tonight
is a perfect Night
to Remember
and
to Share.
You see.
Two years ago today
Moma lost her Sweet Molly.
Her second Wire Fox Terrier.
Molly died peacefully in Moma's arms.
On the Deck.
In the Sun.
She was nearly 16 years old.
And she was a beloved member of the Family.
Moma will always cherish the Memories she has of Sweet Molly.
Sometimes
When Moma reads the pages of notes she jotted down
All the Memories she could think of
All the Words that described Molly best
It is as if she is still here.
In the room.
Sharing Love.
The Memories are just as Vivid
The Love is just as Strong.
Please do what Max and others have suggested.
Take time
to capture photos of yourselves together
and
Take time
To write down everything
In whatever form
That you can think of
that is Special.
No matter how little
or seemingly insignificant.
Then
Just as for Moma
Two years later
or
In the case of Sweet Kizzy
Nineteen years later
the Memories will be just as Vivid and Strong
and very very Special in the Future
as they are Today.

We understand that your heart is still so tender from your loss despite the time that has passed. The memory however is precious! Molly was a beautiful, sweet doggie and the picture of you and her staring into each others' eyes speaks in itself. It is exactly what we are doing at the moment. But at least you have it...that precious picture of "Mom & Me"! Thank you for sharing it.

We know how heart wrenching it is to loose a beloved friend, but happy memories and time heals.
AAAAAHHHHHHH! We loved the Memories of Molly you shared with us - it is so important that we cherish those memories and not remember the loss - but the love. We send big hugs and Sally sends licks - we plan on making a Mom & Me book too - we think it is a lovely idea

Miss Fergi!
I already ordered a special medal with your name on it for being Mango's Choice. Momma let me do that for my special choice awards because she said it was HER money and SHE could decide who to spend it on. In this case, I am happy she did.

Hi All,
So sweet your pictures and your memories!! I love to go back in my mind and be with them!!! Your heart only gets bigger!!! You have more and more room for more love for the animals you have now. Bambi is 12 years old and Happy is some where between 15 and 18 years old. So I will be losing them in a short time. I don't look forward to that, but I know it is part of having animals.
I keep out the pictures of my dead pets and talk to them and I do feel that they are still with me in spirit!!!!
You welcome!! I have loved my pets so much, it is a pleasure to have been able to spend wonderful times with them.
Kiss the pups for me, Fern
Hi
Thanks so much for telling us all about Molly. She reached a grand old age indeed, and must have had a wonderful life. I am trying to get Gail to co-operate with this 'Mom and me' thing - can you please tell her that it also applies to humans who don't like being called Mom, or Mum, or Mummy or Mama or whatever!!
Cheers, H.
Woooos! What BeaWoootiful memories...
Mum has some very special ones too, of humans and of furry ones that are waiting for us!
Than you for sharing your special bonds of love!

Fergi and Jake, Thanks for this blog. It makes my Mom and I appreciate each day together more. And, you are right, Max has already reminded us of that. How sweet it is to remember those that have gone to Doggie Heaven! Molly was a sweet, pretty girl!

Wonderful post, made even more poignant because Wally T. Corgador crossed the bridge this morning, and we are missing him - hope his ma ape has memories stored.

So sad to loose a loved family member but 16 years is amazing
You are so right to make note of those little things. I suspect we will all look back very fondly on these blogs of ours one day. :)
We know exactly how you feel. It's so easy to fall in love with someone like Molly.
We have many fun memories of our first three Koobus dogs, all male wire fox terriers. It was difficult to lose each one of them. Two weeks after we lost Koobus III, we got the beautiful little 10-week old female wft puppy that became Koobie. It was love at first sight.
Koobie is the sweetest, smartest, most loving dog we've ever seen. She has been a constant joy and we love her dearly. Life without her would be much more difficult and far less fun.
Love and Lots of Koobuss Kisses for Everybody,
Koobie's Mom
Tears in our eyes. Very sweet post and loving photo.
Hugs and snaggle-tooth kisses,
Sierra Rose
When Dakota started to slow down and give us signs that all was not well, so many encouraged us to take lots of photos and videos. We did, and we are so glad we had started our blog by then so we were even more inclined to get those mementos of her life. We only wish we had done it when she was a lot younger.
A beautiful post, wish we had known Molly too:)
Woos, Phantom and Thunder
What a beautiful post. You are so right that taking note of all of the little things are what add up to the really big thing.
It is in the remembering and the sharing that we become immortal. Thank you for letting us hold a piece of Molly in our hearts forevermore. Mom did not wash the panes in out front door until I was three because several held pawprints of Sheena, the Sheltie, who died unexpectedly from cancer before I came along. It was Angel Sheena who sent me to this family.
So you see, even when you're loved ones are gone, they will never be forgotten. I truly believe this too!
your pal,
Bruce:)
