Joyful Acceptance

Guess What?

She said YES!

Sally accepted my invitation for a winter holiday stroll!
I'm headed over the Big Pee!

We've decided on a Christmas Eve stroll
To see the pretty lights
and enjoy the sights and sounds and sniffs
of the holiday season.

Just a simple evening.
Together.

I'll try my best to make it special for her.
(For me, just being in her company will be special.)

(Sigh.  With a big goofy smile.)

I'm happy and proud!
Honored and humbled.

Just like we all were when we received several very kind awards
over the past few months.

These awards that have been sitting in a special location
long awaiting acknowledgement
and mentions of thanks and appreciation.

(I'd like to blame Moma for our negligence
and long delay in posting about them
but we'll all share the responsibility.)

From Mango in September

(Thank you, Dog with the Relentlessly Huge Heart)

And from Stella, at about the same time

(Thank you, Dog with the Amazingly Beautiful Furs)

And from a third special mystery pal or pals
(We think it might have been Martha and Bailey)
Do you remember?

These awards were all the work of the Purple Hatter.
They circulated wide and far this fall.
And we were pleased to receive them.

The original instructions included tagging five doggies
whose blogs we enjoy visiting.
Instead, at this late point in the game
We are encouraging anyone who hasn't already received these awards
to grab them and enjoy them on your blogs.
We enjoy visiting you ALL!

The awards are a real symbol of Friendship.
And everyblogger deserves that
in our opinion.

We also received the (now "old") "Oops Award"

(Thank you, Denver Doggies)

They told us:
"When accepting this award, you must blog about the food you have stolen when your humans were not watching. If you have never stolen any food, you must have been a really good pup! You can accept this yummy tray of cookies as your reward! Next add the logo of this award to your blog (optional), then nominate at least 5 other furry blogs and let them know by leaving a message on their blogs."

Well.
We love food.
Both of us.
That's probably 'cause we didn't get much of it
when we were mill dogs.

We beg (if that's what you want to call it)
We hope for handouts.
We try to look cute and deserving.

But the truth be known
Neither of us have really ever stolen food.

Prob'ly if we did
Our people'd celebrate
'Cause they'd realize we had gotten over the fear
(unfounded)
that we'd get in big trouble.

Now.
To stretch the rules.
There are a few things that we've eaten
That we probably shouldn't've.

I got a little rambunctious with a corn cob
and bit off the end and swallowed it in a flash.

Puked it up in about four days, I did.

I also ate three wooden buttons
When Moma left me and Fergi alone.
(oops)

Pooped those out in about two days, I did.

Fergi?

Well.
She's eaten flowers.

And packing pellets.

And leaves.

But to our knowledge
She's not yet stolen food.

She thinks about it.
But she never gets close enough.
She doesn't quite have the nerve up yet.

Someday
Though
We're both gonna write a whole blog post
Just about that new milestone.
Stolen Food.

In the meantime
We get a chuckle out of the stories of our pals
and you provide Inspiration

So
If you'd like
PLEEZE take this award and tell us your stories.
We'd like to read more of them.

One of them just might be the one that sets us in motion.

OK.

More Awards.

This one has us completely stumped.
We went back over our blog
zillions of times
And can't seem to find when we got it
or who gave it to us.

We're sad about that.
'Cause we think it's pretty
and it makes us feel good.

Do you know?
And, more importantly,
Do you forgive us ?
Please do.

This one we know.
It came from White Dog
One of our true inspirations
And
We were honored to receive it.

We're not big on superlatives.
Like Best.
Or Most.
Or Finest.
Still.
We accept this special award with humility
and pride.

Thank you.

And finally
It appears
Thanks to Martha and Bailey's nomination
which was "seconded" by
Maggie and Mitch
and supported by the votes of many of our friends

That we've been awarded the
Awesome Blog Award for November

Wow!
What an honor.
It makes us feel really good.

We've read that Dogs With Blogs
is "on hold" for a bit
(You can read more here)
So we've taken the liberty to simply grab the badge
and to say "thank you" to everyone who supported us.
It makes us feel proud.

We love our friends.
Never would we have imagined what a pawsome group of buddies
We'd make here.
Blogging.

Gosh.
It has even brought us out of our shell a little
to flirt
and to risk love.
Even if it's just puppy love.

Christmas magic is more than snowflakes and twinkling lights...it is the unexpected "yes" and the cookies you haven't tasted since you were a child and cheerfully dropping your change in those red kettles for the Salvation Army and hanging that special ornament on the tree. We KNEW she would be thrilled to have you at her side, Jake. Congratulations on having enough faith in yourself to ask; I am proud of you. P.S. You and Fergie and your family deserve each of those awards! Thanks for sharing your lives with us.

How could anyone resist you? of course she said yes!

A shiver ran over our spines when we saw you with that corn cob. the Mighty Moll nearly died from a corn cob and our pinkies didn't even feed it to us. It had to be cut out of her guts, but no-one knew what was wrong with her at first. She was dying when pinkies sought the opinion of another vet who finally decided to open her up and, voila, a corn cob was revealed.
Pinkies were happy that Molly was saved but are still paying off the vet's bill. Beware!!!
