Christmas Treats from 'Cross the Street

Moma's been busy baking.

And it's been making us hang out in the kitchen a lot.

To Wish.

and

Wait.

The Insult?

I got described as "fat" recently.

How does it happen?

A girl gets fat on a carefully controlled diet?

It's my fluff.

That's what it is.

Anyway.

Moma's had these packages lined up on the counter.

And we've been delivering them to neighbors.

It's been fun.

We've liked giving and sharing.

AND

We've been lucky dogs

And have been on the receiving end.

Weeks ago

Our 'cross the street pals

Bailey and Samantha

(A Bichon Frise and Havanese)

Brought Jake a Toy.

A Flattened Chipmunk.

I was curious about it.

It was nice and quiet.

Not threatening or intimidating.

And

Turns out it has become Jake's Favorite Toy.

He sucks on the nose.

And he gently holds it and treats it with care.

Unlike most of his other stuffies.

We keep forgetting to tell our Pals what a Favorite it is.

We've gotta remember to do that one day soon.

So, anyway, last night

We come home and find a package on our doorstep.

Moma brought it in and put it on the floor where I could sniff it.

Last year I wouldn't get near the packages under the tree.

This year I am getting braver.

(Maybe if I stretch way out I look slimmer?)

I poked my nose in.

And started drooling again.

Jake took a little more assertive approach.

And discovered just what was making us drool!

Yummers!

I think I'm liking this time of the year.

And it seems that I'm not the only one who needs

to worry about over-indulging!
