So
It seems she listened.
We're back
Two days in a row.
We're patiently hoping and waiting.
That's just how we are.
Here's how this return to blogland started:
Moma has about a zillion projects in progress
Big Plans
Some with us Some not
Some for us Some not
(More about those later ... assuming we can keep her rolling)
One of the projects has to do with balls of yarn
(that we tend to get tangled up in
and
One of Us (not saying who)
Thinks they just might be a "babies" that need "tending to"
(behind the couch)
This advent of knitting started back a couple of years ago
With Gramma
(She knitted tons of sweaters, hats, scarves, afghans and such
for her family for many many years.
It's just one of those things that Moma
always seems to associate with her mom ...
memories of knitting.)
Well
Mom-Gramma
(mom to Moma, gramma to us ...
that's how she always signed her emails
back in the day when she sent emails)
She was getting restless (and bored?) sitting in her chair
So Moma made her a FIDGET MUFF
All out of scrap yarns
(that had been Mom-Gramma's back in the day)
and
with lots of bells and whistles.
That what got Moma started knitting
and
She hasn't quit
Most of what she's made has been small and simple
but
We've been inspired (and lucky)
'cause we've gotten lots of beautiful jumpers
(sweaters for you 'mericans)
from Square Dog
in England
Pretty
Classy
Stunning
Beautiful
and
VerySpecial
(wouldn't you agree?)
(This one was made for Virgil ... more about him soon ...
modeled by Eric, himself)
Then I (Jakey) got a fancy one, too
Grey and black and white
Designed by Square Mom
with Square Dogs
And my cousin, Zoe
She got a snood with square dogs
(Can you see them?)
Well
Moma's been knitting and knitting
and
She always seems to be looking for more inspiration.
Since snowy weather is around the corner
We've been trying to convince her that some new jumpers
Would be
A VeryAppropriate Project
So
She went on a search for ideas and patterns
and
Guess what she found?
Gail's Bouncing Bertie
modeling
a
hand-knit
(by Gail)
JUMPER!
Right there in front of us
On the computer monitor
From clear across the Pond!
Turns out that Gail and Bertie's neighbor in Scotland
is a knitter
and
She shared this picture of Bertie!
Now we've got a problem.
Moma has realized that during her hiatus
There have been even more things
popping up to distract her
like
Blogs about Knitting!
(including one by Gail's neighbor ... which led to many many more)
Oh dear.
Guess we'll need to keep practicing our patience and hopefulness.
(But she DID promise to blog some more)

How WONDERFUL to see a blog post from all of you♥ My mom knits too and lately she's gotten stale because she's made too many scarves and hats and mittens and she doesn't need afghans. Unfortunately, she doesn't like knitting socks much and the 3 pair that she did make have been put away for safe keeping. How dumb is that! Your sweaters are just beautiful!
keep it up please. you are about to inspire me!

How wonderful that you too discovered our lovely Torridon neighbour Julia of Hand Knitted Things.
Gail and I are suer impressed by your jumpers from Eric. Oh how we miss him and all the other (formerly) blogging WFTs.
Toodle pip!
Bertie.
We are just enjoying your photos so much. Your sweaters and headgear look so wonderful and look so warm for those cold winter night walks. Thanks for sharing the lovely photos. Have a great upcoming weekend.
