Young at Heart

First of All
We are more than a bit Frustrated
with Our eXtra Old Moma

In our Opinion
She is not spending enuff Time
on Blogger
and we are missing visiting our Friends
and, even more upsetting
We are missing VeryImportantNews

Like
(If you haven't already read ... go to her blog and learn about
the BigCapture)

(Actually, we knew Scuby is now inside her Home
What we didn't know what that she had been visiting
near the BackDoor at Night)

Anyhow
We are working on Moma
Trying to get her to Reprioritize
but
We're not making much Progress

So
We hope you'll not give up on Us
These next few Weeks

You see
She's getting old ... had another Birthday to prove it
and
We're getting ready for AnotherRoadTrip!

But
Back to the Weekend

Moma's Birthday fell on a Friday
A VeryWindyFriday
So windy we did not even consider our FridayHike

But
You know what?
We're FlexibleTerriers
and we've learned

If you've got Lemons
Make Lemonade

We knew exactly what to do in WarmWindyWeather

Yep!

Fly a Kite!

(What a better way for an NotSoYoung Moma
to act like a GleefulYoungChild?)

It was great Fun
For all of Us
Especially when we watched Moma run Barefoot
When the Kite string broke
(She got it!)

And
That's not All
We got some pretty Balloons
and watched them flutter in the Wind
and float up to the top of the DeckRoof

and eventually Sail off to New York
(by way of Greeley)
Where OurGirl and OurFriends were helping us celebrate
from a Distance

And
That's not All

We've learned
(Even if OurGirl isn't Home to enjoy it)
Good Food goes paw-in-paw with Birthdays

This one was no Exception

Moma got the Hungries for Seafood

And of course we had to TasteTest

Turns out Fergi doesn't like Oysters on the Halfshell
(But I do!)
However she loves Clams and Mussels

And Moma must, too
'Cause all the Food sorta disappeared

AND
That's not All
There were Pressies
and Cards
and Lots and Lots of WellWishes

and
of course
Birthday Cake
(Gingerbread with Lemon Sauce)

Do ya think we're spoiled?

It was Tasty
It was a Great Day

Even if we DID miss OurGirl
and
Even if we DIDN'T save her any Leftovers

(heehee!)

And
Bottom Line
We've gotta admit
Moma is sorta Young at Heart
Even if she is sorta eXtra Old

Now
If she could just get all the Baking done
and the Crafts finished
and the Bags packed
SO WE CAN GET ON OUR WAY!

I know how hard it can be to spend blog time. Gosh, when I just had a few pals no problem, but you know how it is when you want to visit lots of friends. No worries, we all understand.

Oh, by the way, I watched the destuffing movie. Most impressive. Your terrier skills are really coming along.

Slobbers,
Mango

Friends understand that when you are out living life and embracing wonderful experiences that you are filling your heart with joy and love that you will bring back to share and appreciate together. So, dearest ones, don't fret not spending time at the keyboard...gather tales and wonders and amazements and happinesses that you will pass on to us in the dark hours, or rainy days, or moments when the time is right. We will be waiting to hear your wondrous stories. For now, Carpe Diem!

P.S. We are so glad you participated and liked moma's delicious birthday repast. We are sure you know NinaGirl was So with you in spirit.

P.P.S. We love the thought of moma chasing a kite in her barefeet!

The birthday cake looks delicious and the balloons and kite must have been fun.

Wishing your moma a belated Happy Birthday. Go easy on her, birthdays and packing take lots of time.

Wowser...that is a great meal! We made Seafood Stock for the Zuppa we always get on Christmas Eve, and now it is in the freezer waiting. But there weren't many tasting opportunities, so we are glad to share vicariously.

We are very excited to learn where you are headed on your next road trip. We are going to St. Loulis right after Christmas, but that is not very exciting any more. Ya know.

kisses

Happy Birthday, Buddy! I wish I could have been there to celebrate with you. Maybe one of those balloons will float over Florida. Looking forward to our morning walks!
I love you!

Our silly Mom can't stop looking at your china - which Haviland pattern is it - apple blossom?

It looks like you helped your Mom celebrate a fantastic birthday. Be safe on your road trip.

XOXO

PS- can you email us your address in FL?

Hi Jake and Fergi,

We know you're still there and we're still thinking about you all. What a fun thing to do, go kite flying on Moma's birthday. In fact, I'm going to ask Gail why we don't have a kite here - we sure get plenty of wind...

Gail is salivating at all that seafood, but I'm focussing rather on the gingerbread. Is it good with lemon sauce - we've never heard of that combination?

Oh and it looks like there were some very posh presents there - did you help open them, I'm wondering.

Looking forward to reading about your next road trip.
