God Bless America

Our Home Sweet Home

This is the way we like it.

We're Home.
Or nearly Home.
At Gramma's Home.

I'm sitting in Gramma's chair.
Fergi is in her (borrowed) doggie bed.

Moma has the television turned on nice and loud.
She says it's drowning out the boomers and snaps and crackles and pops
that are blasting around in the sky outside.

We're listening to the patriotic music
and watching the fireworks on the Hudson River in NYC
Wondering if Asta is watching out her window.

It's not so scary this way.
And we can enjoy the memories of a great day.

You know.
We know.

We are two lucky dogs
In a family of five lucky dogs.

And today we celebrated America's Birthday
and all the privileges and rights that come with it

Including the right and privilege to be
Very indulged (and loved) dogs

We've really enjoyed the day today.
So we want to say.

God Bless America.
Our Home Sweet Home.

(With a huge thanks to our forefathers and all else who gave their lives
so that we may enjoy the freedom we know today.)

We hope your day was good too.
If it was half as good as our little party
It had to be wonderful.

(Be safe!)

Now we leave you
With plugged ears.

What a fun party that was! I enjoyed watching the slide show and got really hungry thinking of all that ice cream. We all just got to lick the bowls after the humans were done with theirs today. Hrumppph... maybe next year they'll serve us!

Licks and wags...

What a lovely party for America's birthday...filled with diversity of looks and colors...sharing...enjoying the bounties of this rich land. We read the Declaration of Independence just to remind us of what an daring amazing experiment America was then...and the legacy that we must strive to uphold. (and also to distract us from the explosions). While it isn't in THAT document, we want to share another great work: God Bless Us EVERY one! We loved your smilebox!!!!

No way was mom watching fireworks on TV and adding to the boom booms that were already going on outside! Yup, behind the bathroom door on the nice cold tile floor worked for me!
We are so happy that you got ice cream!

Love ya lots

It's real hot here in Ohio, too.

Oh. Sigh.. I'm still waiting for my first taste of ice-cream...
Well I don't need to wish you a Happy Independence Day 'cos it's clear you had one. Gail says that she is pleased our countries don't fight each other anymore, and that we can have so many human and doggie friends across the Pond.

Good to see you chilling with some frosty ice cream and not suffering through the real loud bangs. Hope you have a wonderful week!
